Pier 9 - Small FOV

16" F/6.8 Corrected Dall-Kirkham

Telescope

Very few people have a long enough focal length telescope and Skies to image up close and personal but this one at 2720mm when combined with a an APS-c CMOS sensor manages to juggle FOV while still keeping a decent image scale of smaller objects like planetary nebula, globs and other interesting objects.

We have left the camera at 1x1 binning when imaging so users can software bin in post processing to suit the seeing etc, we do not guarantee that you can leave this setup at 1x1bin to process your image as 2x2 & 3x3 binning gives more appropriate sampling with this focal length

Please note: The maximum sub length we will do on this pier is 300s

CMOS Camera

The ZWO ASI-2600MM Pro Mono CMOS is one of Sony's new generation zero ampglow sensors. They are super sensitive with very low noise. Making them a paradym shift from the CCD cameras we are all used to using and require much shorter exposures

This camera is set to Gain 100 as our default.

  • Imaging subjects with brighter cores will of course require shorter sub lengths for HDR, your personal experience will be needed to gauge this yourself.

  • Please remember this is only a guide above, we are just trying to help you have the best experience possible remote imaging with Roboscopes.

  • Roboscopes supply the site and control the equipment but you choose everything else from filters, object/co-ordinates to sub lengths. So you need to exercise due diligence and experience when booking because if you fill the booking form out with incorrect details then you will get precisely that.

  • It is not Roboscopes responsibility to check your detailed requirements after you have booked.
