hi,
So after a long wait we had a new dataset job 2056 crescent nebula.
may i suggest Roboscopes to take this Pier off line, repair the problems and only then bring it back online.
i wont go into what the problem was as it has been discussed earlier
Reputation is important in such an industry and once lost takes a long time to regain.

Hi
Yes Vikas, before our recent maintenance trip the pier had 2 issues
Focus = this was resolved whilst we were in Spain
Pointing = it has a 1 sub jump only, at the beginning of every imaging block (a minor irritation) we are working on this still and believe it is now solved as of my own tests last night
All other subs are pointing correctly, we were fully aware of the pointing issue and have been working on it behind the scenes with different settings to resolve it but to suggest to take a pier offline for a minor pointing issue is nonsense when all you need to do is blink your data and remove the few offending subs. It is far from the train wreck you seem to be intimating in your post
FYI whilst in Spain we have to make the best use of our time, we do all mechanical and maintenance that cannot be performed remotely. When we return we continue with Flats, darks software foibles and pointing models. The pointing falls under the latter, this is normal for us and how we work.
I am presuming with the fact that you are not mentioning focusing that the previous focus issue (just before our maintenance trip) has been solved to your satisfaction?
Kind regards
Steve
ps Moving forward Vikas, if you have any issues or things are not working well, please open a support ticket so we can get the problem sorted as we get instant notifications that way and can keep a record/log
Please ignore my dylexia wherever possible, just be thankful I can control my Tourettes ;)
Things to do, so little time!
