I am really pleased to have got some data for this infamous object - the helix is great. Amazing. Thanks to all for sending this through! So, I have posted my third object in recent days, and whilst I managed to process this reasonably well, sort of, I could not get the colours I wanted, and I have an on going struggle with the flats for pier 1, and so I had to processed this without them. Any tips would be good! I would like to be able to do better with this... Anyway, it was a SHO process, and was 12 Has, 27 OIIIS and 78 SIIs, each at 15 minutes long exposure time. Total integration time is thus 29 hours and15 minutes! Thanks all...

That's nice Simon and also a target I never thought I'd get the chance to tackle. Got a lot on right now, not the least of which is downloading hundreds of those large subs from pier 14. I've had to move a lot of stuff around on my computer to accommodate just the calibration files.

This pier is definitely a winner for this and many galaxies, particularly since the guys spruced it up during their last visit. I must admit to having been rather envious, when I first started this hobby, of those using this type and size of scope, when they featured their photos in magazines. To get the opportunity to use such a scope plus so many others here is great.

Thanks for sharing this and so many others Simon,

Cheers,

Ray
