Morning everyone...

I am so pleased with the data from Pier 12 - a great set up! Top class... Having had a nightmare situation due to the quarantine shut down and getting back into the country before it happened, and then the ensuing exhaustion, I am pleased to have been able to do something normal, and thus I post M16. I should have used some deconvolution, but did not have the wherewithal in recent hours. I hope all of you are well...

Anyway, pier 12 uses a 10 Micron GM2000 mount with a 12.5inch F/9 RCOS telescope and a FLI ML-11002 Class1 Mono CCD [2x2 Binned] camera. I used 19 Ha subs, 12 in OIII and 26 in SII all at 10 minutes long each, totalling an integration time of 9 hours and 30 minutes.

Take care all of you.
Simon

And the other way up, just hoping that my kindness at offering two orientations will not make the blood rush to the poor bird's head!

Hi Simon,

That does sound exhausting, have a good weekend relaxing.

Now another great image, but fortunately you've given me an excuse to be really critical over this image. The Eagle is upside down. Don't give me any excuses about there not being a right way up in space either! :)

Regards,

Ray,

Many thanks for your kind words of support and for liking the image. I have added another version - being the kind and generous fellow I am!

Have a great day.

Thanks Simon,

I'm sure this reorientation will assist others in readily recognising it if they don't happen to know what M16 is. I struggled at first and thought that M16 was a typo. The orientation had me thinking of a bat like creature but Google didn't find a fruit bat nebula, then by chance I looked at the screen basically upside down! :)

Sorry if I come across as a harsh critic at times, but you had already set the bar so high. Not a problem I have.

Cheers,
Ray

Thank you for getting back in touch with me and please be assured I did not find the comment critical. In real terms all I had to do was rotate the image and repost it. If you do find a fruit bat nebula perhaps we can jointly name it after ourselves! I appreciate you being on here. Simon
