This is my rendition of NGC 6914 in Cygnus (job 2146).
NGC 6914 is the small reflection nebula near the centre of the image. It is surrounded by emission and reflection areas and dark clouds.
Question. I seem to be seeing arcs to the right of centre running top to bottom alternating darker bands with a red cast and lighter bands with a blue cast. Are they real, an artefact of processing, or am I being fooled by the well-known tendency of the human brain to see patterns where none exist?
