Welcome Clarkey, I think you are going to love RoboScopes! 

Most requests for a reasonable number of subs (say 12hrs or less) you can simply submit.  If you are planning something longer like a Mosaic or exotic PN you should probably just confirm there are no objections from others sharing the Pier by detailing your request here in the forum.  Also be sure to check the current queue for your Pier to avoid duplication and gauge the kind of targets and integration times your fellow members are going for.

On another note - all the cameras here have been upgraded to CMOS and so the general consensus is that we obtain maximum efficiency by shooting pure RGB (no LUM), with shorter subs (60-180s).  Of course every target is different, and everyone's opinion is welcome :)

Also check out the Imaging Calculator, which provides the optimum number subs for each filter based on sensor sensitivity across the wavelength band.  Not as complicated as it sounds, I promise!

As for everything else, I believe "Anunnaki" summed up most points succinctly enough, apart from the subject of Mosaics,  2 panel mosaics are fine, if you have a bigger multi pane project in mind just ask the group for feedback first

That's about it really, we don't want to over police things, just employ common sense is all!

Welcome to Pier 3! I live in Washington state it during the summer there is about 2 hours of dark skies so I know how you feel. I should have gotten into taking pictures of clouds.

Yes - it is a little bit more than my one or two imaging nights per month! I have already been looking into options such as another NAS drive. I have a couple of Tb spare for now, so I'm not desperate yet.
