Fantastic idea Darius,

Although the initial search may be best in OIII with a wide field scope in my opinion, then if you get a hint of anything move over to pier-3 for the resolution :)

Thanks for the tip Steve,
my thought was that we could start right away with Pier 3, since M33 fits completely on one image and we have already collected Ha and RGB data with which we could combine the Oiii data.

Honestly it’s upto you Darius :)

my only reasoning was simply FOV as a wider perspective may find things not so apparent so close in 

I doubt everything is as close as the OIII one seen by M31, even if it has one at all, although again that only my opinion and not evidence based :)  

Having said that I happen to like narrowband galaxies anyway As it offers something different , I am currently looking into a near IR setup for this very reason :)

Yes, that's right. May well be that outside the galaxy are also Oiii areas.

If no one has anything against it, I would start the search first with P14.

As a P14 user it gets my vote. If nothing shows up then the data could still be used with some RGB of M33 for a nice image anyway.

I have now submitted the job for P14.

you could add HA SII and do a narrowband galaxy 

I have seen a few over the years and if done well they look awesome and different to the normal images out there

Yeah I thought about that Steve, but didn't want to overload the queue with the 160 going on in the new year and it already having a lot in the list.

just my 2 cents....

1, it is a continuation of an existing job

2, being narrowband the data is easier to gather than broadband as you have more opportunities with the moon

3, what have you got to loose, as far as a nice image is concerned OIII data on its own is as much use as a chocolate teapot. so its a good use of pier-14 resources to finish the data collection so you can make an image :)
