656 Imaging AD300 12" Corrected Dall-Kirkham

Telescope

This is a corrected Dall Kirkham with a nice flat field and a moderate speed for the aperture at F6.8, at 2040mm its a great focal length but in this case we have combined it with a KAF-16200 which allows high resolution imaging combined with a substantial FOV.  This brings a whole host of larger subjects into play at a much larger aperture without breaking your imaging budget.

CCD Camera

A Moravian G3 16200 which uses the KAF-16200 APS-H? Large format sensor with a very useful 6µm pixel size that you can bin 2x2 on longer focal lengths like this while still keeping plenty of pixels in reserve

  • Imaging subjects with brighter cores will of course require shorter sub lengths for HDR, your personal experience will be needed to gauge this yourself.
