Telescope

At 1700mm this telescope is a brilliant step into medium focal length imaging when combined with a smaller sensor. It’s perfect for getting up close and  personal with many of the smaller nebulas and galaxies as well as taking higher resolution shots of interesting sections within much larger ones. It’s a corrected Dall Kirkham with a nice flat field and a moderate speed for the aperture at F/6.8.

CCD Camera

The FLI ML-8300 is by far the best varient if the 8300 sensor as it has the best cooling and lowest read noise in its class, not to mention superb download times

  • Imaging subjects with brighter cores will of course require shorter sub lengths for HDR, your personal experience will be needed to gauge this yourself.
